• Applicants must submit proposals through the Kempner Fund’s online grant application. Emailed or printed copies will not be accepted.

  • APPLICATION UPDATE: The Kempner Fund deployed a streamlined application for the first time with Fall 2020 grant applicants as a response to COVID-19 and as a way to test streamlining some of our HEKF paperwork and processes. The streamlined application is also available to Spring 2021 applicants as we recognize that HEKF grantee partners are still in the depths of COVID-19 impacts. Please contact the HEKF office with any questions regarding the new streamlined application at information@kempnerfund.org

  • Due Dates: The Fund accepts proposals twice a year:
    • March 15 for program areas: Health or Human Services
    • October 15 for program areas: Arts & Humanities, Community Development, Environment, Education, and Preservation
  • Directors will consider one proposal per program area per year.
  • If your request is $3,500 or less, please contact the Kempner Fund office at information@kempnerfund.org
    • These requests must also be submitted within the spring and fall grant deadlines listed above to be considered by the HEKF Board of Directors.
