The Harris and Eliza Kempner Fund is proud to announce the selection of its new Executive Director, Lauren E. Scott.  She is replacing Anne Brasier, who was with the Fund for a decade and recently moved to Madison, Wisconsin.

Eliza Quigley, Kempner Fund President, says, “I am thrilled to have Lauren as our new Executive Director.  She has the passion and dedication to Galveston and philanthropy that directly mirrors what my family has done for 72 years.  I look forward to working closely with Lauren and utilizing her experience in nonprofit development, governance, and program development and implementation as we move into a new age of leadership and funding.  It is an exciting time to be with the Fund to continue its philanthropic legacy.  Lauren will undoubtedly bring experience, wisdom, and leadership to this role.”

Lauren has lived in Galveston since 2005 and worked at UTMB for nearly 9 years, most recently as Associate Director of Behavioral Health and Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is “excited to support the board’s mission and Kempner family’s legacy of service to Galveston.”
